A Reflection As We Begin The 2025-2026 Year In Prayer

For those of you new to PFTNG, my name is Barbara Jackson and I am the Founder and ED of PFTNG. The older I get, and the more I reflect on my life in Christ  the more I come to be overwhelmed how He has been forming PFTNG long before I even said Yes to Jesus. If you haven’t heard my testimony, in short, on December 11, 1996 (less than 3 months after my wedding day and this photo of me and my mom) my mother died unexpectedly after a “routine” heart surgery. In the hospital the day she died, I surrendered my life to Christ and haven’t looked back once. As we begin this new year of praying together, I wanted to honor my mother and share a little of my heart.
Today is my mom’s earthly birthday. Pictured here is one of the last photos of us (taken by a dear old childhood friend). I wasn’t a model daughter. I was quite rebellious and difficult. It’s hard sometimes to fall into regret and shame over what was not. But God has used every iota of my past to form, shape and mold me with the gifts HE has given me. His words says not to dwell on the past, but look and see He is doing a new thing (Isaiah 43:18). Remember today, precious friend He has given us unique gifting to use to bring Him glory. I pray our next generation would long to walk in His ways. I pray we would encourage them to be all God created them to be.
My mom came to know Jesus when I was a teenager. Her prayers over me and my siblings will bring eternal blessings and I can’t wait to see her again. God gave me treasured adult years with my mom. I didn’t know her life would be short, but you see,  He loves me and He restored so much between us for a short time on earth, and I can not wait to share eternity with her!!
It’s one of the many reasons I love my Lord and Savior and King. Let Him lavish on you today! Praise God from whom all blessings flow. And wherever you are with your child God hears our prayers and calls us to persist. My mom may not have seen the labor of her prayers, but they are reaping eternal treasures FOR HIS GLORY!!
It is why I love each one of you and “Praying for the Next Generation.”

  1. Reminds me of the old hymn, “I Love To Tell the Story. Shall Be My Theme in Glory. To Tell the Old, Old Story, Of Jesus and His Love.” He can use it all.
